About this course

Developing mindset building tools and a storytelling platform to increase representation for women in STEM and Sports

You can't be it, if you don't see it.

  • Access youth driven tips to address mindset blocks in STEM and sports for women

  • Share your experiences while reading the stories from other women pursuing their passions

  • Build community through sharing your experience & learning from others who are paving the way

Kristiana is using her passion for sports to change how young women show up on the court

"I am a young girl who lives in this small village and I play basketball. It is very hard for me and my team to improve because we are not supported by the villagers. I usually ignore them and their comments but sometimes it is not easy for me and my teammates."

Karol is developing an interview and creative writing series to learn from people who have broke through traditional gender stereotypes

Our Partners

Questions we are exploring in this project

  • How has a lack of visibility impacted how women see opportunities for themselves and/or how they perceive the risk of trying?

  • How do we build and encourage more young women to try specific spaces and spheres more represented by males?

  • How can we encourage collaboration over competition and reduce negative comments associated with stepping out of traditional roles and spaces?

Achievements so far

  • Community Based Research

We interviewed peers in identifying some of the major hesitations to breaking down gender stereotypes

  • Mindset Building Techniques

From the research we've developed a set of inspirational mindset building tools to be used by youth when pursuing STEM opportunities or sports.

  • Storytelling and Partnership Development

In addition to the mindset building tools we are interviewing women who have pursued their own ambitions
